Tied-in forms part of a drawing cycle begun in 2003, titled Le boulevard. In their simplicity, these drawings might trace a path of one thing to something other by depicting two objects, a wrapped tree and a 2” x 4” support. This series of six drawings on Mylar expresses the sensation of joining. The absence of context brings the viewer close in to the tenderly rendered images. The use of black and white focuses the image and enhances the indeterminacy of the space.
